2/11 Open Roller Derby Scrimmage
February 11, 2017 @ 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM
$5Join BAD as we shake the off-season rust from our skates at the historic 16th Street Station in Oakland on February 11 for some black and white scrimmage fun and our first roller derby event of the year.
WHAT TO EXPECT
This mixed level black & white scrimmage is open to all female skaters who have passed the WFTDA minimum skills test and have some scrimmage experience. (Sorry guys, no coed this time.)
There will be two sessions:
– 35 minutes Beginner/Intermediate
– 45 minutes Intermediate/Advanced
The floor is concrete. We’re not quite sure what that means for wheels yet, so bring a variety and help us figure it out.
SKATE LEVELS
Participants are encouraged to assess their own skill level and participate in whichever scrimmage(s) they feel comfortable skating. BAD recommends using the following guidelines:
Beginner: You have passed WFTDA minimum skills, have skated in some scrimmages and/or games, still have a lot to learn on and off the track but are excited for new challenges.
Intermediate: You have passed WFTDA minimum skills, can confidently skate and scrimmage, may be on your league’s B-team but are looking to progress to the next level.
Advanced: You have passed WFTDA minimum skills, can skate confidently forwards and backwards and are on your league’s A-team.
