Season Preview by Rex Blocker: San Francisco ShEvil Dead

Perennially strong, the San Francisco ShEvil Dead also have a frustrating history. Regularly rostering some of the league’s toughest skaters (seven current or former ShEvil Dead, more than any other team, will populate the All-Star roster this year) as well as some of the league’s longest-tenured, it would stand to reason that this pack of zombies had at least won their fair share of league titles. Regrettably, that end-of-year success has eluded the Dead and with a few notable retirements or skaters leaving to focus on bringing home the Hydra, this year looks to be the beginning of a rebuilding project. 2014 Double Header #3

Not only is the Bay Area a great place to live, but it is also home to one of the biggest and strongest roller derby leagues in the world – B.ay A.rea D.erby Girls!  Come watch all four BAD home teams bout on July 12.  Doors open at 4:30PM.

Game 1 @ 6:00 PM: Richmond Wrecking Belles v Berkeley Resistance
Game 2 @ 8:00 PM: Oakland Outlaws v San Francisco ShEvil Dead

This double header will be at the beautiful Craneway Pavilion in Richmond.


Tickets

General Admission: $25 in advance*, $30 at the door

  • GA Seating is on a first come, first served basis.
  • There will be bleachers, “suicide” floor seating along the track, limited chair seating, and standing room sections.
  • In order to sit trackside, you must be at least 18 years old. If you do not have valid photo ID to verify your age you will be required to move.

VIP: $40 in advance, $45 at the door.  VIP Includes:

  • Guaranteed Bleacher Seat Along the Straight Away (first come first served)
  • Extra Butt Room
  • One Beer
  • Small Merch Gift Items
  • “Talk Derby To Me” Liaison
  • Separate Ticketing Line

Group Tickets (10+)

  • 15% discount.
  • Valid for General Admission advanced sales only.

This an all ages event. Children under 5 get in free.

2014 Golden Bowl

Get ready for a whole weekend of world class flat-track roller derby June 14-15, 12pm – 9pm.  BAD All-Stars (Golden Girls) take on Angel City Hollywood Scarlets, SoCal Derby, and Windy City Rollers All-Stars in an epic tournament.  This is a rare opportunity to watch some of the best roller derby teams in the world compete right here in the Bay Area.

2014 Double Header #4 – Champs

This is your last chance to watch your favorite Bay Area flat-track roller derby teams bout each other on our home turf this year. Last year’s champions, the Oakland Outlaws, will bout the winningest BAD home team the Richmond Wrecking Belles for the glory of being the best home team of BAD in 2014. There is good news for all of you hippies and zombies: Berkeley Resistance will bout SF ShEvil Dead at this event, too! First game starts at 5pm, doors open at 3:30PM.

Season Preview by Rex Blocker: Oakland Outlaws

There aren’t many worst-to-first stories in the four major US sports. The 1991 World Series featured two, as both the Minnesota Twins and Atlanta Braves had losing records in 1990. The 2000 New England Patriots went 5-11 and won the Super Bowl the following year.
