BGOTM – Biggie
This month, the nominee for B.A.D. Girl of the Month stays within the Richmond Wrecking Belles locker room. It’s none other than Biggie Brawls! #77 in your program, #1 in your hearts, Biggie is the league’s Training Committee Manager, responsible for organizing who will be training at every practice. She’s also responsible for keeping the calendar that tells us where to be and when, and who’s playing where. Biggie is described by a teammate with one word: “Drive. This pertains to so many different things. Her drive to succeed on the track, in the gym and as the head of training. And, as a blocker, her ability to drive you from side to side on the track.” This would explain how she won Rookie of the Year last season, and made it to our B-Team, Team Gold, this season. She also “lifts really heavy things” and “has nice hair,” according to anonymous sources, who go on to say, “it’s important to keep an eye on Biggie. Not only as a force on the track but as a future leader of the league.”
Ladies and gentlemen, Biggie Brawls!!

What’s your gubmint name (the one on your birth certificate)?
Cindy Liu
How did you get your derby name?
[Teammate] Sterling Archer named me.What do you do for non-derby work?
I help turn a massive pile of papers into a good looking building without losing my mind. I try to anyway. That’s what Architects do in case you were wondering.
How did you become involved with our league? How long have you been with us?
I started with reckless rollers. I started skating in reckless 3 years come this July.
Do you have a favorite derby moment or one thing you are most proud of?
I’m pretty dang proud of being a member of Team Gold. My teamies are amazing skaters and I was really surprised to be picked to be a part of it. I went into Team Gold tryouts thinking it was just about getting experience and was humbled to get to continue to play with some incredibly talented and smart players. I have a lot to learn but super excited to learn from them.
If you had one super power what would it be? Would you use it for good or evil?
Telepathy. I would use it for both. I would use it right now.
Where would you love to live, if not in the Bay Area?
Taiwan so I could eat street food on the hour every hour OR a piece of land somewhere where I could build my own house.
Who’s your derby crush?
[Berkeley’s] Sasha Fierce. I would say she’s more my derby hero than a crush. I wanna be her and shelf EVERYONE all the time. Also I have a crush on [Berkeley and All-Star] BA’s arms cause well you’ve seen them right? What’s your personal goal for 2015 (derby or otherwise)?
All asian blocker line and it’s happening! Me, T. Wrecks, Liza and the Belles just drafted Mad 4 Gravy. So one day at scrimmage it will happen
